Insertable Safety Flanges are used during high-speed polishing and buffing with Airway Buffing Wheels without center plates. Positioned on each side of the wheel, they help keep the buff securely in place.

This is the insertable version for buffs without center plates. Wheels with center plates use a different safety flange.

- 01Position the first flange
With the tool disconnected from power, place the first flange on the grinder’s shaft.
- 02Add the buff + second flange
Place the compatible airway wheel over the first flange, then fit the second flange on the other side.
- 03Fasten securely
Secure the attachments according to the tool and hardware instructions before buffing or cutting.

What do safety flanges do?
They sit on each side of the buffing wheel and help hold it securely in place during polishing. For wheels with center plates, the corresponding center-plate flange style also helps reduce the chance of plate warping.
