Crafted from 100% cotton cloth and a special twill-style weave, these thick and durable Mid-Range Airway Buffing Wheels bridge the gap between a second-stage coloring wheel and a third-stage fine finishing wheel. Designed for detailers and polishers who demand both strength and finesse, these Mid-Range Airway Buffing Wheels deliver a consistent, controllable cut with a smooth finish.
The Mid-Range Airway Buffing Wheels are best paired with our Yellow Deluxe, True Green, Wild Berry, or any of our other Coloring Compounds for Metal Polishing.
The tightly woven cotton construction gives this wheel exceptional durability and resilience under heat and pressure, while maintaining the flexibility needed to produce an even, swirl-free shine.
Its balanced density makes it ideal for intermediate polishing stages — removing light lines and haze left from aggressive cutting wheels and preparing the surface for high-gloss finishing.
For reference, below is a table showing the maximum safe operating speed for each size of buffing wheel:

Yes! Edge buffing is a technique commonly used in conjunction with an angle grinder, a buffing wheel, and compound. Achieve a shiny, polished edge effortlessly. See below:

The buffing wheel should be spinning at it’s normal speed and the Buffing Wheel Rake should be held securely when held up to a stationary bench grinder or lathe. On a grinder, please exercise caution when raking. We recommend using your feet to hold the Buffing Wheel Rake to the ground and holding the angle-grinder to it.
Raking your buff removes hardened and burned on polishing and buffing compound from the edges of your buffing wheel. Compound build up can reduce the efficiency of the buffing wheel while also creating a rougher surface. If you notice a significant decrease in the residual metal dust produced when buffing, rake the buffing wheel and reapply a small amount of metal polishing compound.
