Choosing the Right Polishing Compounds

For the best results, pair our Single-Stitched Loose-Ply Buffs with the right compounds. We recommend the use of our Blue Rouge Polishing Compound, Competition Purple Compound, or our Blueberry Ultra Fine Synthetic Polishing Compound. 

Pro Tip: Buffing Wheel Maintenance

Always keep your buffing wheels in optimal condition by regularly using a Buffing Wheel Rake. To do this, ensure that the buffing wheel is spinning at its usual speed and securely hold the rake against it, either with a stationary bench grinder or lathe. When using a grinder, exercise caution and use your feet to secure the rake to the ground while holding the angle grinder to it. Raking your buffing wheel removes hardened and burned-on polishing and buffing compounds from the edges, improving efficiency and surface quality. If you notice a significant decrease in the amount of residual metal dust produced during buffing, it's a clear sign that it's time to rake the buffing wheel and reapply a small amount of metal polishing compound.
