VISUAL GRIT GUIDE
Start with the least aggressive grit that gets the job done
Test a small area first. Move coarser only when needed, then progress through finer grits.
Use when the surface needs aggressive material removal or major leveling.
Continue correction while reducing the depth of the sanding pattern.
Refine the surface before finer preparation or the next finishing stage.
Use when the finish target calls for a finer sanding pattern.
Pro rule: match the disc to the backing pad, confirm the grit is offered in that attachment style, and remove the previous sanding pattern before stepping finer.
THE GRIT DECISION
Match the starting point to the surface condition
Always confirm suitability with a test spot and your tool manufacturer’s instructions.
