Start with the surface
Confirm defects and sanding marks have been corrected before chasing color. A coloring bar is not a substitute for proper preparation.
Professional coloring compounds
Six formulas let you match cut, dryness, abrasive profile, and climate to the surface. Use them as the second stage of a multi-step polishing system with an intermediate buffing wheel.

How the stage works
Coloring compounds follow surface preparation and the initial cutting stage. They refine the haze and marks left by heavier correction while building a brighter, more reflective finish.
Confirm defects and sanding marks have been corrected before chasing color. A coloring bar is not a substitute for proper preparation.
Temperature and humidity affect bar transfer, residue, and working feel. Use each formula's climate guidance.
Choose more cut for additional correction or a finer, drier bar when the surface is already close to the target.

Use the system chart to coordinate compound and wheel choice from cutting through final finishing.
Compare the six formulas
Cut is rated from 1 to 10. A higher dryness rating indicates a drier-working formula; lower numbers indicate a wetter working character.
Fine and extra-fine grains in a dry coloring rouge.

Medium and fine grains in a relatively dry coloring rouge.

Fine grains, lower grain density, and a very dry bar with a high melting point.

High concentration of fine grains in a balanced medium-dry bar.

Coarse and medium grains in a balanced synthetic cut-and-color formula.

Fine premium grains and green oxide for enhanced hue and shine on aluminum or stainless steel.

Quick-selection table
| Formula | Working profile | Cut | Dryness | Best fit |

| White Rouge | Coloring | 2/10 | 8/10 | High humidity; mild temperature |
| Blue Rouge | Dry finish | 4/10 | 9/10 | Broad climate range |
| Yellow Deluxe | Balanced color | 5/10 | 5/10 | Low humidity; high temperature |
| Wild Berry | Cut + color | 6/10 | 6/10 | Low humidity; moderate to high temperature |
| True Green | Versatile color | 5/10 | 6/10 | Aluminum or stainless; broad climate range |
Surface preparation
Complete the required sanding and cutting work before moving to a coloring compound. The surface should have a consistent scratch pattern with major oxidation and defects already removed.
Every project is different. Metal type, surface condition, existing finish, damage level, shop climate, and desired result determine the preparation steps and starting point.
Application process
Choose the intermediate buffing wheel appropriate for the metal, formula, and finish goal. Verify wheel and machine speed ratings.
Use a clean wheel for each formula. Rake the working edge so hardened material and contamination do not carry into this stage.
Briefly touch the bar to the spinning wheel's working edge. Excess compound causes buildup and residue rather than faster coloring.
Keep the wheel moving, monitor heat, and inspect under clean lighting. Reapply sparingly when polishing action drops.

Frequently asked questions
Use it after surface preparation and the initial cutting stage, once major defects are removed and the goal is to improve clarity, reflectivity, and color.
Wild Berry is rated 6/10 and provides the most cut in this group. True Green and Yellow Deluxe follow at 5/10.
Blue Rouge is rated 9/10 for dryness, followed by White Rouge at 8/10 and G16 Green Rouge at 7/10.
Use a dedicated, clean wheel for each compound whenever possible. Mixing formulas can contaminate the stage and make results less predictable.
No. Color may come from abrasive ingredients or added pigment. Select by formula name, cut, dryness, abrasive profile, metal compatibility, and climate guidance.
That depends on the desired finish. A well-matched coloring stage may meet the goal; maximum mirror-like refinement can benefit from Competition Purple or Blueberry on a final finishing wheel.
