Inspect + prepare
Identify oxidation and the condition of the aluminum before choosing a starting step.
Sand where needed
Follow the 320-grit stage with 600 grit to refine preparation marks before polishing.
Cut, color + finish
Pair Orange/Brown Tripoli, then Yellow/True Green, then Flannel/Competition Purple.
Touch up + maintain
Use EZ Red and microfiber pads where the buffer cannot reach and between polishing sessions.

Verify speed ratings
The original kit guide specifies 3,500 RPM for the initial rotary polishing stage. Verify every wheel and accessory rating and use the appropriate speed for each subsequent stage.
Use Safety Flanges
Mount compatible center-plate wheels with the included flanges, following the wheel and machine instructions.
Prepare the wheels
Use the included Buffing Wheel Rake according to its instructions to prepare wheels and clear compound buildup.
Wear proper protection
Use suitable eye, face, respiratory, hand and hearing protection. The original guide references a full-face respirator.

What is in the current kit?
Three 9-inch center-plate wheels in Orange, Yellow and Flannel; junior bars of Brown Tripoli, True Green and Competition Purple; 24-ounce EZ Red; ten discs each in 320 and 600 grit; one pair of Safety Flanges; one Buffing Wheel Rake; and four microfiber round pads.
Which liquid polish is included?
One 24-ounce bottle of EZ Red Sprayable Metal Polish for hard-to-reach areas and maintenance between machine-polishing sessions.
Are machines included?
No. A compatible orbital sander and rotary polisher are needed. The original guide references the Makita 9237C, Makita GA7021, Craftsman Random Orbit Sander and Milwaukee Cordless Orbital Sander. Check current specifications and compatibility. The machine’s maximum speed is not the wheel’s safe operating speed.
Are flanges and a rake supplied?
